Wake up to… Your world

It is hard to believe that the 2008-2009 school year is nearing the end and we soon will be saying so long to our friends here on the "Hill." For many of us, we will have to say goodbye to some friends that we have grown to love and cherish. It is with this in mind that I hope you will join me in saying goodbye to someone who I have worked with the past two years in Campus Ministries and have grown to love and appreciate deeply: Dustin Tommey.
Dustin has been a life send here in Campus Ministries. He is always willing to do whatever it takes. For Dustin, Christianity is to be lived out day by day. Dustin is always willing to put on his working clothes and loving others in Jesus' name.
It is going to be hard to see Dustin leave because in Dorothy Day's words, "He has given himself away, for in so doing you love." Dustin and Raven will be heading on to Eastern University in Philadelphia and will begin a new chapter in their lives.
I cannot help but think of Apostle Paul's words in Philippians in the first chapter, "I thank my God every time I remember you." D.T., you and Raven will always be in my prayers. I thank God for bringing you here to Shorter and into the lives of so many here on "The Hill."
As you move on, Keep Being The Gospel. Never forget to put the needs of others before your own. Let the mind of Christ be in you always. You have been a servant of Christ to us all. Thanks for giving yourself away and investing your time and life in us. Go in Peace my brother. You will be missed. May His Peace and Grace be your guiding light.
