Jenica Reed was named the new beauty queen on Tuesday, March 3 at the Miss Shorter Scholarship Pageant held in the Callaway Theatre.
"There really are no words. If anything, I would call it surreal," said Reed, a junior Vocal Performance major.
With her big win, she is now privy to a $2000 scholarship as well as an additional $1000 stipend for her next adventure-the Miss Georgia Pageant.
Reed stands with her 7 other competitors in a picture above, starting on the far left with freshman Tara Brown, junior Laura Lee Gill, freshman and first-runner up Hannah Freeman, sophomore and second-runner up Kaitlin Pauley, freshman Myra Compton, senior Mary Hutson and freshman Theresa Griffin.
Miss Shorter 1989, Melanie Helton Riddle, stopped in to lend her support, and Miss Shorter 2005, Nicki Nicholson, assisted in planning this pageant.
