Commitment is an issue among young people

Our generation has lost their ancestral values of home and hearth to the modern values of one night stands.
The question is why? Why are women and men alright with the having a relationship without having strings attached? Why do men prefer to have women without relationships or commitment?
The life of the younger generation has become more and more advantage oriented. What will the outcome be?
You can see boys and girls being with each other, liking each other and yet run from commitment, obligation and self-sacrifice. These kinds of relationships are more common in one's college years. Having someone who cares and yet you are not answerable to makes it better than perfect.
The idea of unbinding commitment between partners who are highly motivated by "possessive individualism" make their relations with each other starkly contractual.
Freedom means different things for different men. For some, the main joy of relationships is challenge. They happily pursue a woman as long as they don't have her, but once they do, they start feeling trapped. These men feel as if excitement and new possibilities are now cut off.
Once commitment is in the picture these men feel as though they are trapped and imprisoned. They often say that once a woman has him, he'll be putty in her hands. In the end he feels he will lose his sense of masculinity.
For them it's all a power game. The one who is strong is the one who needs less. Boys want to feel wanted at all times, and whoever gives them this sense is whom they want to be around. It is no wonder that men like these cannot stay with one woman too long.
Sooner or later feelings of dependency start to grow. At this point, these men take to the hills. No matter how strong they think they are, their loneliness and frustrations only intensify each time they run. They shut themselves from either the fear of being labeled or being known for being with one specific one.
Men start to feel used when time comes for commitment. Many women feel as though they need a man to make a commitment in order to feel secure. But when a man senses this, it can make him feel like an object, as if he's being used for the woman's security.
