Shorter, LaGrange set for Battle for the Governor's Cup

Rome, Ga. - Shorter College will host its 2009 football home opener on Saturday, Sept. 12 when it welcomes NCAA Division III LaGrange College to Barron Stadium for a 6 p.m. kick off.
The contest will be the fourth installment of The Battle for the Governor's Cup, with the Hawks trying to maintain their unblemished record in the young series (3-0).

Cross Country athletes left Friday, Sept. 4, for Abingdon, Va. as well as Lee University, a familiar site and course, to ensure time for a series of workouts before their season opener on Saturday, Sept. 5.
The workout paid off for Hawk athlete and Kenyan native, Peter Limo, who finished the race with a time of 25:20.
